The purpose of this qualification is to prepare learners to operate competently as Occupational
Health and Safety Practitioners within a variety of workplace environments.
Occupational Health and Safety Practitioners serve as facilitators and advisors to both employees
and management on safety and health matters in the workplace. This includes monitoring and
inspecting work environments, identifying hazards, recording and investigating incidents and
accidents, and ensuring compliance with Occupational Health and Safety legislation.
Graduates of this qualification are equipped to implement, maintain, and continuously improve
Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems to promote safe, healthy, and legally
compliant workplaces.

1. Inspect workplaces to identify occupational health and safety hazards and assess associated risks.
2.Facilitate and support actions to eliminate or control hazards and minimise workplace risks.

4. Participate in the planning, implementation, and maintenance of Occupational Health and

6. Monitor, evaluate, and continuously improve the effectiveness of Occupational Health and
Safety systems.
